How it works
Common Questions About the Process.
What Happens During a Call?
The recipient gets a friendly phone call at the scheduled time. The conversation is warm and unhurried, guiding them through one question at a time. No app or preparation needed.
Do They Need a Smartphone or Computer?
No. They only need a phone. The call comes to them, and talking is the whole assignment. Writing is a bonus, not a requirement.
How Are Questions Chosen?
You choose from a curated list of prompts, write your own, or use the question generator to suggest questions based on a short bio. You can edit and reorder questions anytime before the book is published.
What If They Miss a Call?
The system retries once, about 15 minutes later. After two missed attempts, it moves to the next scheduled date. You can also pause calls and let them write answers instead.
Can I Review Answers Before They Go Into the Book?
Yes. Every answer arrives as it was told and you have full editing tools to shape it. Tidy the grammar, smooth a sentence, trim a false start, reorder stories, add chapter images, or leave every answer exactly as it came in. Unless you want a change, the story stays the way they told it.
